BeBoua’s Review:

I’ve wanted to try the Sulwhasoo cleansing oil ever since I started to try the double cleansing technique. Sulwhasoo products are considered a high-end skin care line. I used this oil cleanser along with the foam cleanser and other Sulwhasoo products. This cleanser comes with a pump bottle, which I like when it comes to cleanliness. I only need one pump and massage around my face is good enough to clean my makeup. The texture is just like oil but a bit watery.

This product cleans waterproof makeup and BB creams nicely. There is a medicine smell, more like herbal medicine. It might cause problems with people with sensitive skin but it didn’t affect my face. I followed up with a foam cleanser to help clear any leftover residue.

I used Scandal Eyes Waterproof Kohl Eyeliner - RIMMEL LONDON for an example of how well this oil cleanser cleans.

I have combination skin so this oil cleanser helps my t-zone but it made my cheek area dry and flaky. Perhaps the PH (Potential Hydrogen) in the oil cleanser is a bit too high. After learning about PH level in my skin care products, I’m more aware of that my PH level is good between 4.0 to 5.5, any PH level above tends to be harsh on my skin. I did a PH level test (I ordered from Amazon) shows that cleanser oil is between 6 & 7 but more closer to 6 so I’m thinking  PH level is around 6.3. Even with a strong oil cleanser, having a hydrating serum helps my skin feels clean and smooth.

Pros:

Pump bottle
Cleans waterproof makeup
For oily skin

Cons:

Expensive
Herbal medicine smell
Not for dry skin

Bottom Line:

This product is more of a high-end skincare line and it might be on the higher price range for an oil cleansers. It does feel n ice and luxurious but unfortunately it dried out my skin and made it flaky. I do recommend using a foam or milk cleanser after the oil cleanser. I don’t think I’ll be purchasing this again since it’s expensive for a product that dries out my skin. I’m almost done with the bottle and will be searching for a new oil cleanser with a PH level between 4.0-5.5. Let me know if you tried this cleansing oil before and how you like it.  Next time, I’ll try sample size instead of the full bottle.
