BeBoua’s Review:

Essential B5 Hydrating Serum was one of the first products I’ve purchased from Derma Quest. I went to my esthetician to get a facial because I was breaking out badly due to my unstable hormones. My skin was dry and dehydrated while my t-zone was so oily. I was recommended to use the Essential B5 Hydrating Serum for morning and night to keep them balanced.

I bought the full size because it happened to be on sale. I have incorporated the serum in my skin routine for about 6 months. The Essential B5 Hydrating Serum comes in a pump bottle. I personally like pump bottles because it keeps all the ingredients shut tight and not expose. In addition, pump bottles are less messy and helps regulate how much is needed. I only use 1 pump and the product last awhile. Since this product contains Sodium Hyaluronate – “Each molecule of hyaluronic acid can hold 1,000 times its molecular weight in moisture” For a small pea size, it is enough to spread throughout the face. It is lightweight gel like serum and it absorbed quickly when gently massaging it in. It can be a bit sticky at first but if you continue to massage it and pat it, the skin will love to absorb the mineral you are giving to it!

I noticed there’s DermaQuest Skin Therapy Advanced B5 Serum on Amazon, I’m not sure if it’s the same as the one I have, Essential B5 Hydrating Serum. But from what I’ve noticed, Essential B5 Hydrating Serum is the newer version of Skin Therapy Advanced B5. The website doesn’t have Skin Therapy Advanced B5 and the ingredients for both are slightly different. Maybe it’s for different country…. Not sure. To me, it seems Essential B5 Hydrating Serum is the enhancement version of Skin Therapy Advanced B5.

Out of all the products I’ve tried with Derma Quest, this is one of my favorite as I can feel the quality of it. After 6 months of using it, my skin has been balanced for the most part. I still get oily in the t-zone area but it has improved tremendously and my cheeks are no longer dry. I do recommend this product if you have the funds and want to try out Derma Quest lines. It will hydrate your skin whether it’s dry or oily.

Pump bottle
Very hydrating
Retains moisture
Absorbent to the skin

Bottom Line:

This product is expensive. It can get sticky but it is absorbent to the skin when massaging it. The ingredients did not irritate my skin and it does help with hydrating my skin as it claims. I would repurchase this again but at the moment, I am currently trying another serum with Hyaluronic Acid (HA). It cost 3 times less and provides similar performance. I’ll do a review of that product soon.
